The Insulin Calculator The Insulin Calculator

Basing on the parameters stored in "Diabetic Basic Settings and tests" in the sub-menu "Diabetic Basic settings" the Insulin calculator evaluates reliably the amount of fast reacting Insulin in the moment of inquiry.

The amount of needed insulin per bread unit changes by many diabetics during day-time (dusk-dawn syndrome). This changing insulin resistancy is taken into account by the Insulin Calculator.

Your individual curve of your insulin resistance is one basis of the computed recommendation of the needed insulin doses using the Medicment Insulin Calculator.

We advise you to put in all the data for these times: 6am, 12pm, 6pm, 12am and 2am. These factors are linear interpolated and used as multiplicators during calculation of the necessary fast acting insulin.

Next graph is an example of such an insulin resistant curve. (24h)

The next graph shows the changes, based on the daily insulin resistance curve, per 1 bread unit
Day-time dependent curve of the recommeded amount of fast acting Insulin for 1 Bread Unit

In the concrete application the difference between the real blood sugar level, the doses and the nominal value of blood sugar will be considered.

Medicment takes in account the dynamical needs of your body

Here the graph to show the increasement of complexity when you want to eat 4 Bread Units.

And here the graph for 8 Bread Units

Your resistancy factors have to be defined together with your doctor.

Medicment offers various tests to obtain these factors. Together with your doctor, you can regularly check, if these factors have changed.

Take these tests only after agreement with your doctor, under competent medical control!
