Security of your Data in Medicment

In the matter of security, there are several factors to be taken into account: the used IT system, the data transmission using the Internet and the used hardware environment.

1 The IT system Arachne

Medicment is based on the object-orientated Knowledge- and Information- Management System Arachne.

Inside Arachne all Parameters will be stored according to specialized Algorythms. Arachne emulates an "Object-oriented" structure inside a relational databank. One of the meanings of object-orientation is here, that data will be stored, correlated, sorted and retrieved to various flexible criteria - searching and finding is not limited with predefined criteria.

The used databank is MySQL (www.mysql.com). The data access is not performed using the "standard" tables - it`s solely controlled by Arachne. Only Arachne "knows", which data belong to which record.

These informations are kept top secret of Arachne - they form the basis for all our business fields.

In this Databank there are some millions of records. Only chosen colleagues know the structure of Arachne, the rules of creating and following relations and are able to use these entries in a useful context.

For somebody who hasn`t got this company confidential Know-How it is not impossible to find all the rules - but it takes extremely lot of time and money

2 Transfer of data using the internet

The structure of the Internet is a possible security vulnerability. We are familiar with this problem and try to avoid it using a special data encryption, which takes place since you entered our portal www.medicment.com

This means, that everything is encrypted - all data you send and all data you receive. Neither any character nor any number can be read by anybody who may listen to the traffic in the cable. To decrypt these information needs really huge computer capacities (a lot of powerful computers) - and quite a long time.

It takes extraordinary charges to monitor our traffic.

This certainly has one disadvantage for us: Your computer and our servers use and need a lot of capacity to encode and decode all sent information. Sometimes it can be noticed by a slightly reduced reaction speed.

Much can be heard of viruses, Troyans and others. Our servers cannot be attacked by these - nobody can use our servers for "surfing", because:

All entries to our system, that are not necessary, are "nailed up". All doors which are not absulutely necessary are deactivated. And what is deactivated - can`t reply to any attacks - it does not matter how intelligent those may be.

Your data in Medicment are secure - as secure as it is nowadays technologically possible .

3 Our hardware surrounding

One of the most important security aspects is the so called "physical security". Who could personally get to our Medicment servers and e.g. steal the hardware and analyse the data?

We cannot avoid such an attack, but we still can protect ourselves:

Our servers are located in a special area, protected by our professional partners, to whom we trust. The protected area includes air-conditioning, sprinklers and physical access controls. Our partners maintain a permanent protection of our servers.

Our employees stand personally behind the security of your data.

There are only a few people in our company Arachne, who have the access to your data. We ask you to trust those people as we do. We ensure you, that the security of your data is as important to us, as it is the improvement of the quality of our services.

Dear hackers - work for us and our members and be awarded for it!

We know, that there still exist many holes in internet. And there still will always be more hackers, than available protection forces. We would like to promote a fairness codex for our portal:
